Comparison
Novix vs Sentry Seer
From Sentry.
Root cause from the telemetry itself: the exact stack frame, trace and profile, with nobody retelling it.

Sentry’s AI debugging agent. It reads an error’s details along with tracing data, logs and profiles, finds the root cause of a production error and drafts a fix. It runs inside Sentry, on Sentry’s own issue objects, and it starts automatically as issues arrive.
What starts the agent
A captured Sentry issueDocumented ways to start it
A captured Sentry issue, and effectively nothing else. Its Slack path only accepts messages that link to a Sentry issue.
How a customer report reaches it
There is no help desk, inbox, widget or reporter. If nothing threw an exception, Seer has nothing to work with. That is the honest boundary of the product and they do not hide it.
Side by side
| The question | Sentry Seer | Novix |
|---|---|---|
| Where the work comes from | A captured Sentry issue. Nothing else reaches it. | A report wherever it landed. Alerts from Sentry, PostHog, Datadog, Rollbar and PagerDuty are one of those doorways, beside help desks, chat and trackers. Tag Novix in a Slack thread and the alert an app posted there is the report. |
| What it gets to read | The stack frame, the trace, the profile and the logs, with no human retelling in between. | The report as written, a screenshot when there is one, real code excerpts and recent commits from the files it suspects, errors and incidents from your monitoring around the report window, and who is asking: account context from HubSpot, Salesforce, or read-only queries you save yourself against your own Postgres, plus how many issues that person has filed before. |
| Bugs that throw nothing | Out of reach. A wrong total, a broken permission or a state that quietly never happened raises no exception. | In scope, because the input is a person describing what went wrong rather than a captured error. |
| What it produces | A root cause, a solution plan, and a pull request if you let it. A setting allows root cause analysis to create pull requests by default, and automation preferences choose the stopping point. | A root cause named in your files, a drafted patch, and a pull request carrying its own safety review in the body. |
| Runs your build and tests | No test execution is documented. You can ask it to add unit tests; running them is not described. | Yes, your own build and test suite, in a throwaway container, before the pull request opens. |
| Who merges | A person. Configured to its furthest setting Seer can open the pull request unattended, and it never merges. | A person. Novix always opens the pull request unattended; the gates decide only whether it arrives ready for review or as a draft carrying the reason it was downgraded. Novix never merges on its own. |
Where Sentry Seer is the better fit
These are concrete reasons to choose it instead of Novix.
They own the telemetry
Seer sees the exact stack frame, trace, profile and log line with no human retelling in between. For a crash that is a better starting artifact than a customer’s prose, and it is not close.
It runs on ingest, with nobody summoning it
A new issue starts Seer by itself. For an error, the shortest path from exception to root cause is the tool that captured the exception.
It is already in the tool your on-call lives in
No new vendor, no new auth and no new place to look for a team that already pays Sentry.
Cheaper for a small engineering team
$40 per active contributor a month, where active means two or more pull requests to a Seer-enabled repository, with no included quota and no overage. A team of two engineers pays less than one Novix seat.
What Novix does differently
Most bugs never throw
A wrong number, a permission that should have blocked something, a flow that quietly did nothing: none of them raises an exception, and all of them arrive in a support queue. Those are the reports Novix was built for.
The report can come from anywhere
Help desks, chat, trackers, alerting, a chat widget, a hosted form and one forward-to address. Sentry is one doorway of many rather than the only one.
Who is asking is part of the input
An error object has no account behind it. HubSpot, Salesforce, or read-only queries you save yourself against your own Postgres put the reporter’s account context in front of the diagnosis, and either an open deal or a fifth report from the same person raises that task’s priority. It only ever raises, and the run trace says why it moved.
It runs your build and tests against the patch
Before a pull request opens, in a throwaway container, with one repair attempt on a failure and an honest refusal when the toolchain is not there.
Somebody has to answer the customer
The last stage drafts the update for whoever reported it and a person sends it. An error object has no reporter to answer.
Which one fits your workflow
If every bug you care about throws an exception, Seer is pointed at a better artifact than we are and it is already in your stack. Most support queues are not like that. They are full of wrong numbers, confusing states and things that quietly did not happen, none of which raise an error. Sentry is a doorway into Novix rather than a thing to replace: we read errors and incidents from it around the report window and put them in the diagnosis, so running both is coherent.
