Novix vs Augment Code
Ticket to pull request, with a person approving the plan before code is written and the agent staying until merge.

Cosmos, an agent orchestration platform that runs development loops at scale with humans at decision checkpoints. Ticket to pull request is the flagship workflow: a planner scopes the change against the live codebase and posts the plan back on the ticket for a person to approve or redirect, then a pull request author implements it. It is the closest thing on the engineering side to our shape, and it has been the standing watch item in our own notes since July.
What starts the agent
An engineering ticketDocumented ways to start it
An engineering ticket a person already wrote. Ticket to pull request supports Jira, Linear or Slack only. Across the platform: GitHub, GitLab, Slack, Linear, Jira, schedules and typed webhooks.
How a customer report reaches it
No help desk anywhere on the site today. That is a change since July, when their site carried a duplicate-ticket workflow across Zendesk, Intercom and Slack. It is no longer visible, and we record the change rather than pretend it was never there.
Side by side
| The question | Augment Code | Novix |
|---|---|---|
| Where the work comes from | A ticket in Jira, Linear or Slack, written by a person. | The customer report or product signal itself: help desk, chat, email, monitoring or tracker, with CRM or read-only Postgres context when connected. |
| Where the human checkpoint sits | Before the code is written. The planner posts a plan on the ticket and a person approves it or redirects it. | After the code is written. Novix drafts the patch, runs your tests against it, and puts a pull request in front of a person. Steering is telling it how you would have fixed it, which triggers a re-draft. |
| What it produces | A plan on the ticket, then a pull request. | A root cause named in your files, a drafted patch, and a pull request carrying its own safety review in the body. |
| Runs your build and tests | Yes, and further than we do. The pull request author runs the tests, fixes continuous integration and conflicts, and answers review comments until merge. | Yes, before the pull request opens, with one repair attempt on a failing run. After that the pull request belongs to a person. |
| Who merges | A person. | A person. Novix opens a pull request at most; it never merges on its own. |
Where Augment Code is the better fit
These are concrete reasons to choose it instead of Novix.
The plan is approved before the code is written
That is a better trust shape than reviewing a diff after the fact, and Novix does not have it. Redirecting a wrong plan costs a minute; reading a wrong three-hundred-line diff costs an afternoon. It is on our list.
It stays with the pull request until it merges
Fixing continuous integration, resolving conflicts and answering reviewer comments is real work, and Novix leaves all three to the person who approves.
A mature retrieval layer
Their Context Engine is a real retrieval system. Novix matches memory and known issues by lexical token weighting, and we have written that down as a gap three times in our own notes.
A cleaner price shape for a mid-size team
$100 a month flat with no per-seat charge up to 50 seats, and $100 of usage included. Novix charges per person who can approve fixes, so a ten-engineer team pays us a great deal more.
What Novix does differently
The ticket is the thing we are trying to remove
Their flagship workflow starts at a ticket an engineer wrote. Ours starts at the complaint that engineer would have had to read first, in the tool it landed in, written by the person who hit the bug.
It decides what is worth working on
Spam and outside feedback are set aside before any expensive model call, and a question gets an answer drafted from your code and known issues rather than a patch.
The bill is a seat, not a markup on tokens
Augment charges model inference at the provider’s public rate plus a flat 40 percent, plus compute. Point Novix at your own inference account and nothing is metered at all: the tokens bill to you, at your rate. That account can be Anthropic, Kimi, OpenAI, Google Gemini, DeepSeek or OpenRouter, with one caveat we would rather say than have you find: the engine is tuned for Claude, and the OpenAI-shaped four lose prompt caching and the effort dial, so the same run costs you more.
Somebody has to answer the customer
The last stage drafts the update for whoever reported it, and a person reads and sends it.
Which one fits your workflow
Augment is the closest engineering-side product to what we do, and on two counts it is genuinely ahead: the plan approval before code, and staying with the pull request until it merges. We have written both down as things to build rather than things to argue with. The line between us is the input. Their loop starts at a ticket a person wrote; ours starts at the report that person would have had to read first. If your engineers already write good tickets and the bottleneck is doing them, Augment is a strong answer and we would rather you knew that from us.
